The method

How mastery works

U-ScoreMax compresses 7 years of math into a 90-day path. Here's the learning science that makes that honest — not hype.

🎯

1. Start exactly where you are

An adaptive placement quiz (about 8 questions, 2–3 minutes) binary-searches the 15-unit path to find your frontier. Anything you already know is banked — no sitting through material you've outgrown, no gaps quietly skipped.

2. Mastery you can't fake: medals on your last 10

Your last 10 answers earn the unit a medal — bronze at 7 correct, silver at 8, gold at 9 or more. Any medal unlocks the next unit, and medals only ever upgrade, so a rough start never holds you back and there's always a reason to come back for gold. Every question is generated fresh, so there's nothing to memorize your way past.

3. Learn by doing, not just picking A–D

About a third of practice is hands-on: drag a protractor, balance an equation, plot a line, shade a fraction. Some questions hide the choices entirely and ask you to type the answer. Real understanding, checked in real ways.

🧠

4. Spaced repetition so it sticks

Mastering a unit schedules it for review after 1, 3, 7, 16, then 35 days — the intervals memory research says beat cramming. Each successful review pushes the next one further out until the skill is effectively permanent.

📉

5. A score that's honest enough to go down

Your Mastery Health reflects what you'd remember today, not what you once clicked through. Skip reviews and it drops; keep units fresh and they climb from Mastered to Retained to Permanent.

6. A tutor that makes you do the thinking

Stuck mid-problem? The built-in tutor asks one small leading question at a time — Socratic style. It never hands over the answer, because the goal is that you can do it without us.
